New England’s Oldest Vineyard
Take the drive along the stunning farm coast to New England’s Oldest Vineyard. Sakonnet Vineyard spans 169 gorgeous acres in Little Compton, Rhode Island, with more than 20 acres dedicated to producing authentic, balanced wines.
The property is open to the public Thursday through Sunday 11AM-8PM. Come enjoy the expansive grounds, a wine tasting, wine by the glass or bottle, and seasonal menu items from our kitchen.
Established Legacy
Planted in 1975, Sakonnet Vineyard is the oldest vineyard in the region and has played a defining role in the evolution of winemaking in New England.
The Southeastern New England AVA is shaped by a short growing season, producing wines of softness and finesse, with balanced acidity and bright, expressive fruit. This coastal climate also contributes to exceptional aging potential.
Modern Stewardship
At Sakonnet, tradition meets innovation. Through regenerative farming and a thoughtful, postmodern approach to winemaking, we craft wines that authentically express our terroir and highlight natural structure, balance, and longevity. Guided by a commitment to sustainability, we continue to push the boundaries of New England winemaking while honoring the land and its history.
